Two years after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the U.S. Congress established the Medical Reserve Corps as one of the volunteer agencies within the United States Citizen Corps. The MRC functions under the auspices of the office of the U.S. Surgeon General. Locally, their mission is to improve community resiliency by recruiting and training volunteers to supplement local medical response to public health emergencies.

We will cook and serve our annual lunch to our veterans immediately following the City's program at the Veterans Center from 9-noon. Please sign up if you can attend. If you can't stay the entire time, that is OK. We will take what we can get!  

We'll need to arrive at 3pm (kids eat at 6pm). Because the campus no longer has one, we will need to bring our grill.

Our club will host the District Roundtable!!!  This is our opportunity to promote our club and what we do to other clubs in our district. We will definitely put in a SHAMELESS plug for Pumpkin Run.  We are asked to provide a light breakfast for 35-40 Rotarians.  We need to arrive by 8:30am to set up and we are to clean up afterwards.  Please let Shebra know if you can attend.

This will be a small group of BINGO players, so we only need around 5-8 club members.

This is a joint meeting with the Friday Club at the Ruthe Jackson Center.

Family Game Night is THIS WEDNESDAY, August 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Morada Grand Prairie, 355 W. Westchester Parkway just east of the post office. Families are welcome to join in the fun! Bring a favorite game or two with you. Can't come? Bring a game to Tuesday's meeting to share.

This meeting will be held at Chicken N Pickle upstairs in the West Wing room. Meals will be a buffet discounted for non-profits at $22 person plus drinks other than water.

World Polio Day is annually observed on October 24. This day commemorates global efforts toward a polio-free future, as well as the selfless sacrifices of those working on the frontline of the battle to eradicate polio from every corner of the world.

Everyone is invited to help decide how to distribute the Pumpkin Run proceeds. The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. in the 1st floor meeting room at Cadence Bank (formerly Bancorp South) 530 S. Carrier. Lunch will not be provided so feel free to bring your own.

This meeting will be held at Outlaw's Bar-B-Que (2334 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75051).
