We were saddended to learn of the death of our friend Danny Boykin. Danny was a long-time member of the Grand Prairie Parks & Recreation staff. As our City contact for setting up the Pumpkin Run, he was instrumental in the early days of the Run and continued to support us for years.
Danny, GPHS '76, passed away after a lengthy battle with ALS. At this time there is no information on a memorial service. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and many friends.
At our last Board meeting, we talked about using other community gatherings that we may already be attending to spread the message of Rotary. That said, the next Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event is Thursday, February 23, at Leaning Sign Liquor (Bill Moser & sons, proprietors).
