Many years ago, Grand Prairie Metro participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary clubs. Over about a 10-year period, various members of our club opened their homes to students from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Germany, and Japan. Those experiences created many unforgettable memories and lifetime bonds. Sandi Morrison was one of several in our club that participated. She remained in touch with one of the youth she hosted for about 9 months in 1995-1996. Her name is Bianca and she was from Brazil. On July 14, Bianca will be our guest to tell her amazing story about how Rotary changed her life! There will also be visitors from District 5810, members of the Friday club who remember her fondly, and a few of our former members also! We hope you can attend this special meeting.
In lieu of hosting the traditional Club Leadership Exchange on Saturday, July 11, Incoming District Governor Mike Callahan is inviting all District 5810 Rotarians to come together for a meaningful District-wide service opportunity through The Senior Source “Beat The Heat 2026” campaign.
