The Club welcomed 2026-2027 Rotary District 5810 Governor Mike Callahan last week. DG Mike challenged us to "do better than your best" as Rotarians. He also emphasized issues important to our district including increasing membership, "building the bench" for club and district leadership, and focusing on youth events. In honor of his visit, the Club made an honorary donation to The Senior Source, whose mission has been to enhance the quality of life for older adults in greater Dallas.
Rotary District 5810 leadership attended the 2025-26 Regional Rotary Roadmap Awards Celebration on September 9, and are proud to announce Zone 25B recognition:
Membership Commendation
Polio Plus Commendation
Public Image Commendation
Foundation Commendation
and All-Star District Commendation
In addition, the District was named DISTRICT OF THE YEAR in Zone 25B for POLIO PLUS and DISTRICT OF THE YEAR for FOUNDATION!
This recognition is due to the hard work of our leaders and our clubs to meet the goals that were set for the year. Districts who achieved at least one activity in each category on the Roadmap (checklist) received the commendation in that area. A District that got a commendation in all four areas was named an All-Star District.
RYLA 5810 is once again participating in North Texas Giving Day.
This year is extra special - RYLA 5810 is celebrating our 35th Anniversary! Since 1991, we've helped 7,000+ young leaders grow through Camp RYLA, with 185+ students selected annually across eight counties in our district.
A gift on North Texas Giving Day funds the programs that keep Camp RYLA alumni growing after camp ends including Day 7 (a reunion day in November to help campers prepare for life after high school) and Winter Summit (a January retreat for college-aged alumni to stay connected and keep developing as leaders).
